Clifton Wanderers 54 - 31 Old Bristolians

Clifton Wanderers delivered an exhilarating performance to secure a 54-31 win over Old Bristolians. The match began with a bang as Dan Owen scored an early try, converted by Will Joyce, giving the Wanderers a 7-0 lead. Old Bristolians quickly hit back, but Conor Sloan and Bertie Cole-Fontayn added tries to extend the Wanderers’ advantage to 19-5.

Both teams suffered a yellow card each and Old Bristolians managed to level the score at 19-19. The Wanderers regained their lead with a try from Jamie Collier and another from Joyce, making it 33-19 at the break.

The second half saw the Wanderers push their lead further with additional tries from Owen and Joyce. Old Bristolians scored a try to make it 40-24, but a final flourish from Chris McCann, with a late try, sealed the 54-31 victory.

Thatchers Man of the Match: Will Joyce, for his pivotal role with two tries and six conversions.

Dings Warriors 46-24 Clifton Misfits

The long awaited derby game is over.
Clifton Misfits played Dings warriors under Friday night lights at Shaftesbury Park.

An early try from Dings set the mood for a tough game which was countered by Clifton with a try from winger Adam Walters midway through the half which would put the Misfits in the lead.

Shortly after, the Warriors score another to regain control of the game. A rise in tension due to the scoreline would make a frantic defence from the Misfits resulting in a yellow card to finish off the first half.

Starting the second half at a disadvantage, Clifton were eager to prove themselves but Dings used the extra man to take it around the defence and score on the wing.

With tensions running high a second yellow was awarded to the same Clifton player, which upgraded them to a red card with over 30mins to play.
Clifton did all they could to stay in the game with tries from last year’s top scorer Jason Grinstead and Prop Ben Lang, but another yellow for the away side late on saw Clifton have to go uncontested at the scrum and by law drop yet another player.

With only 12 Clifton bodies on the pitch Dings exploited the advantage in personnel and score line in their favour eventually resulting in a 46-24 win to Dings.
