Clifton RFC were heavily represented in the United XV that took to the Station Rd pitch in the cold Tuesday night air.

Dual registered players, Ellis Genge, Lucas Slowik, James Stephenson and Callum Sheedy all made starts, but the there were also call ups for talented young backrowers Louis Wolf and Fergus Manners.

Ben Foley was handed the United number 15 shirt, whilst his 1st XV compatriot Jack Hughes was named on the bench along with former Clifton juniors Sam Boyland and Ben Gompels.

An impressive end to end game saw the Bristol hosts edge Oxford University 34-31.
