Alex Giltrow will leave Clifton at the conclusion of the season this Saturday following 8 years with the Lavender and Blacks. Giltrow joined form Clevedon and quickly cemented himself as one of, if not the best tighthead in the league. His powerful ball carrying and explosive set piece earning him plaudits from across the league and it didn’t take long for Bristol Bears to sign him to a professional deal.

After his time at the Bears came to an end, Gilly resigned with Clifotn and contributed to the clubs renewed identity where they began to consistently contest for honours at the sharp end of the table. Further honours followed with Somerset, England Students caps and culminated in him being named in both The Rugby Paper and NCA’s Dream Team Last season.

Giltrow leaves Clifton for a homecoming as player/coach back at his beloved Clevedon, as he starts the next phase in his career. Everyone at the club is thankful for the contribution Gilly has made over the last 8 years at the club and wishes him well for the future. We look forward to seeing him on the sidelines in the near future.
