Powerful Number 8 signs on Dual Registration at Station Road

He's big, dynamic and a good ball payer and adds that extra strength to our backrow
- Matt Salter, Head Coach

Gloucester Academy's Jack Bartlett has linked up with Clifton as Matt Salter's side continue to push on this season. Bartlett is undergoing the transition from a prop forward to a No.8. Standing 6ft 3in and 120kg, he grew up playing at inside centre, No.8, hooker and prop, and has a list of skills that will be useful in his development into the new position.

Jack played for Cinderford and Lydney and got on Gloucester Rugby’s radar aged 12 through the development pathway programme. He has played for Chinnor as well as having represented England at U18 and U20 level and made his first appearance for Gloucester Rugby’s first team in October 2018.

"He's a terrific ball carrier, he's physical and dynamic and he brings that extra ball carrier into the backrow we have been light on since we lost Niall (Gibbons). We've had some good backrowers come in from Gloucester in recent years; Jack Clement is now regularly playing well for Gloucester in the Premiership and Jack can come in and really add strength to our forward pack.
