Game of 2 halves, and a great come back for the home team.

A sunny start at Station Rd saw the U13s take on the Sharks of Gordano.

Having been on a run of wins, Clifton were shocked by a fast start from Gordano. Beaten to the ruck and turnovers won by Gordano exploited space in the Clifton defence and scoring 3 early tries with little response from the home side. Clifton slowly worked their way back into the game with some strong carries and a better press defence, resulting in clawing back 2 tries at the half time break. A trademark run and physical finish from Rayaan to score the first and a great break down the right touch line for Louis C, beating several players before dotting down for the 2nd.

A little hair dryer treatment from the coaching team in the half time huddle seemed to spur the boys into life and they cam out of the blocks firing and looking a different side. An early score from Alfie, tip toeing through the D to lift the confidence and bring the lavender and blacks to all square.

A purple patch then followed, with Clifton seeing all the possession and territory. Tries from Louis C, Finn x2 (with an outrageous goose step) and then another from Louis to bring up the hattrick and Clifton started to create some breathing space on the score sheet. Gordano gained a second wind and an extended period of defensive pressure pushed Clifton deep into their 22 and a turnover then led to their 4th try.

With 10 mins remaining on the clock, Clifton debutant Josse took a short ball off Ollie, from a good turnover from Alf and great hands from Rudy, to break through and score his first try for Clifton. Rounding off a fantastic display, Louis C wrapped up the game with his 4th and Clifton's final try of the game. Final score 45-20.

A few knocks in the game today and ice packs were being distributed with some frequency. Wishing all the boys a speedy recovery!

Some notable mentions this week. Louis C backing up a MoM performance last week with another huge shift. Ollie for a great game at 9 in Ellis's absence and to the 2 MoM's:

Forwards MoM - Josse Hughes
Backs - Rudy Jamieson
